The Origin of the 2009 Swine Flu Pandemic is considered to be Mexico. Although some in the scientific community have stated that sources of the influenza A H1N1 strain may have originated other areas such as New Zealand & China. Originally identified in April 2009 by the US Centers for Disease Control (CDC) in Atlanta GA, the Swine Flu death toll world wide is over 4,00 0 with approximately 400,000 showing swine flu symptoms. With the majority of mortalities of Hispanic origin, Mexico and Brazil currently have the highest rate of deaths related to the 2009 swine flu.
The 2009 Swine Flu originated, at this writing, near the pig-farming industry in Perote, Mexico. A Mexican woman from the state of Oaxaca, a city south of the capital Mexico City, was the first victim of the swine flu out break in Mexico. Adela Maria Gutierrez Cruz, died on April 13 2009 from influenza virus complications.
Swine Flu 2009 emerged in the United States after a 23-month old Hispanic male who traveled with his family from Perote, Mexico to Brownville, TX. The toddler survived. Multiple deaths in Texas have been attributed to the Swine Flu Virus. Most recently, an eleven year old elementary school student died in Garland, TX.
